After receiving the initial request from the pathologists, (movable report builder) I wanted to dig deeper than just providing what they asked for and see if we could find creative solutions that may address the core needs more efficiently.
The original request the pathologists asked for was to make the report builder window movable as it was stationary and overlaying the content they needed to access as references. However, I wanted to dig deeper to see if there were other solutions that would more effectively address their pain points and maybe even find other features along the way.
After mapping out the user flow, I brought together another UX designer, a developer and some pathologists to hold a design studio. We did a Crazy 8's exercise to ideate potential solutions, then compiled the results on a matrix to best determine which were the most valuable (to the user) and viable (feasibility to build). This helped guide the following design process more effectively.
